The Scène Nationale du Sud-Aquitain is a major live-performance institution spanning four cities, Bayonne, Anglet, Saint-Jean-de-Luz and Boucau, and its core challenge was building a strong identity without a logo, since 'Scène nationale' is a generic French designation.

We developed a system of consistent graphic, typographic and photographic principles instead, one that grew recognisable enough over time that some elements could be suggested rather than shown outright.
