We designed the hotel's first identity, back when Zannier operated it. A few years on, the owners wanted a brand that could grow with them: guest houses across the city and, in the medium term, a spa. Rather than start from scratch, they chose to build on what they had. The rooms already knew what they wanted to say: 19th-century bones, and modern comfort in the details you actually touch, like the lighting and the bedding. They came back to us after falling for the illustrations we made for the Cobbler.
Rather than start over, we kept 1898 as an umbrella brand, able to hold every pillar of the offer, today's and tomorrow's. The Post 1898 became 1898, a name built to carry weight. Around it we built a system: a logo with hand-drawn numerals, a colour code for each entity, and an identity that flexes from one address to the next without losing its accent.
